Lifing terms for using the site

Lifing is designed to be a warm, reflective space rather than a typical social feed. To keep it safe and enjoyable for everyone, there are a few rules and expectations.

By creating an account or using Lifing in any way, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

This page explains how Lifing should be used, what we expect from you, and how we handle things like content, credits and account access. It is not formal legal advice, but it does form the basis of our agreement with you.

1. Who we are and what Lifing is

Lifing is an online platform that blends social updates with journalling-style posts. Users can share guided daily stories, attach images and videos, and interact with other members through likes and comments.

References in these terms to “we”, “us” or “our” mean Lifing (the platform and its operator). References to “you” or “your” mean you as a visitor or registered user.

2. Using Lifing

You may use Lifing for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided you:

  • Are at least 13 years old (or older if required by law in your country).
  • Provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • Keep your login details secure and do not share your account.
  • Follow the community rules set out on this page and anywhere else on the site.

We may update, pause or remove parts of Lifing at any time, for example to add new features, perform maintenance or improve safety.

3. Accounts, security and access

You are responsible for anything done through your account unless you have told us (as soon as reasonably possible) that your account may have been compromised.

We may restrict, suspend or close accounts where we reasonably believe:

  • These terms or community rules have been broken.
  • There is abusive, harmful or suspicious activity.
  • Someone else is using your account without permission.

4. Content you post

When you post a story, image, video or comment, you keep ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display and share it on Lifing for the purpose of running the service (for example, showing your posts in your profile, other people’s feeds and backups).

You confirm that:

  • You have the right to share the content (for example, you took the photo or have permission).
  • Your content does not break any laws or the rights of others (including copyright and privacy).
  • Your content follows the community rules below.

We may remove or edit content which we reasonably believe breaks these terms, or which is reported to us as harmful or inappropriate.

5. Community rules

Lifing is built to feel supportive and human. You agree that you will not use Lifing to:

  • Bully, harass, threaten or deliberately upset other people.
  • Share nude, sexual or sexually explicit images or videos.
  • Post hateful, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or otherwise discriminatory content.
  • Glorify self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or serious violence.
  • Share private or personal information about other people without their consent.
  • Impersonate another person, including pretending to be Lifing staff.
  • Spam, advertise aggressively or attempt to sell products without permission.
  • Upload malware, attempt to hack the site or interfere with how it works.

We may remove content, restrict features or close accounts where these rules are not followed. In serious cases, we may also contact relevant services or authorities if we believe someone is at risk.

6. Guided stories, daily limits and extra posts

Lifing is designed around guided daily stories. By default:

  • Standard accounts can publish one guided story per day.
  • Additional posting slots or boosts may be available through in-app credits.

Where we offer extra posting features (for example, a 30-day boost allowing two posts per day), the details – such as the number of posts and how long the boost lasts – will be explained in the app.

7. Credits and paid features

Lifing may offer a virtual credit system which can be used for optional features (such as extra daily posting slots or other small upgrades).

  • Credits are a virtual item, not real money.
  • Credits are normally non-refundable once purchased or spent, except where required by law.
  • We may change the price of features, how credits work, or what they can be used for.
  • Misuse of credits (for example, chargeback fraud or abuse of promotions) may result in account restrictions.

If we suspend or close your account because these terms have been seriously breached, you may lose access to any remaining credits or paid features without compensation.

8. Our content and technology

The Lifing name, branding, design, code and features belong to us (or our licensors). You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell or create competing services based on Lifing’s design or code without written permission.

You may link to Lifing or share screenshots of your own content in a fair and reasonable way, as long as it does not suggest we sponsor or endorse you without our consent.

9. Availability, changes and updates

We aim to keep Lifing available and running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee that:

  • The site will always be online or error-free.
  • All features will remain exactly the same forever.

We may change or remove features over time, run maintenance, or release updates that alter how the site looks and behaves. Where possible, we will make changes in a way that keeps the spirit of Lifing the same – reflective, gentle and focused on everyday life.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

As far as the law allows:

  • We are not responsible for content posted by users on Lifing.
  • We are not liable for loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect or consequential loss.
  • Our overall liability to you (if any) in connection with Lifing is limited to the amount you have paid to us for paid features in the 12 months before any claim.

11. Ending or suspending your access

You can stop using Lifing at any time and, where available, delete your account in your settings.

We may suspend or close your account, or restrict access to parts of the site, where:

  • We reasonably believe these terms or community rules have been breached.
  • We are required to do so for legal or safety reasons.
  • We decide to discontinue the service.

If your account is closed, we may keep limited information where we are required to do so by law, or where we have a legitimate reason (for example, security logs or records of serious abuse reports).

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date shown here and, where appropriate, highlight the changes in the app or on the site.

If you continue to use Lifing after changes take effect, we will treat that as acceptance of the updated terms.
